Long description

Good Ol' Days is a brand-new 52′ Island Spirit 525E sailing catamaran, chartering fully crewed and all-inclusive in the British Virgin Islands. Her 26′9″ beam gives five queen cabins, each with its own en-suite head and air-conditioning, so five couples each get a private door rather than a bunk and a curtain. A hybrid system — a 40 kWh house bank charged by 3.28 kW of solar — runs the air-conditioning through the night without the generator, which is the difference most guests notice first. Aboard are Captain John Yoxall, USCG and BVI licensed and a certified sommelier, and Chef Olga Dibrova. The rate covers both crew, every meal, an open bar, all fuel and water, the water toys, Starlink throughout, and BVI customs fees and cruising permits.

Accommodation
Five queen cabins, each with its own en-suite head and individually controlled air-conditioning. The layout is one cabin forward and one aft in each hull, plus a fifth. Cabins are not identical in size — please do not describe them as identical — but every cabin is a queen with a private head, which is the point that matters to a group of five couples.
Crew
Captain John Yoxall — Captain, certified sommelier
Originally from England and having lived in seven countries, John has captained yachts across the Caribbean and Greece. A certified sommelier and a history buff, he pairs the wine to the chef's cooking and brings the islands to life with their stories. USCG and BVI licensed. Instagram: @captainjohnbvi
Chef Olga Dibrova — Private chef
Raised in Odessa on the Black Sea, Olga came to the galley by way of the interior, first cruising the Mediterranean and Caribbean. She builds each menu around creativity in both flavor and presentation. Instagram: @chefdibrova
The crew is two people. There is no steward aboard. Some older listings say there is; they are wrong and should be corrected.

Power and noise — how to describe it accurately
A 40 kWh house battery bank charged by 3.28 kW of solar runs air-conditioning in all five cabins overnight without the generator running. That is the claim to make.
Three claims not to make, because they are not true and we would rather lose the booking than correct a guest aboard:
- She is not silent. A cooling fan is audible, and the generator still runs for heavy loads or a long cloudy stretch.
- She is not fully electric or zero-emission. The system is hybrid, with a diesel range extender.
- She is not the only hybrid-electric charter yacht in the BVI. Others exist.
Photography
Images are available on request for listing use. Two things to know before you publish:
- The sailing photographs were taken during sea trials off Thailand, not in the Caribbean. Please do not caption or file them as BVI images.
- The crew and food photographs are genuine and were taken in the Caribbean.

If you maintain a listing for us
The three things that most often go stale are the crew count, the rate, and the cabin description. If your listing says three crew, quotes a rate not on this page, or calls the cabins identical, it needs an edit. Everything on this page is the current version of record.
