Good Ol' Days › BVI Itinerary

A sample week in the British Virgin Islands

Nothing here is fixed. This is simply what a good week often looks like — your captain builds the real route around what your group wants.

Day 1 — Board in Road Town, Tortola

Boarding is typically late afternoon in Road Town. Settle into your cabins, meet the crew over the first dinner aboard, and sleep at anchor in a quiet bay.

Day 2 — Norman Island

Snorkel the caves at Treasure Point, then a lazy afternoon on the water. Norman Island is the classic BVI opener and an easy first sail.

Day 3 — Cooper Island and Salt Island

Quieter anchorages, good snorkeling, and time for the sea scooters. A slow day if the group wants one.

Day 4 — Virgin Gorda and the Baths

The granite boulders and grottoes of the Baths are the single most photographed spot in the BVI — worth an early start to have them to yourselves. North Sound in the afternoon.

Day 5 — Anegada

The only coral atoll in the chain, and completely different from the rest: flat, remote, miles of empty beach. Weather permitting, this is the day most guests remember.

Day 6 — Jost Van Dyke

White Bay and the beach bars, or a quiet anchorage nearby if the group would rather not. Your call.

Day 7 — Sandy Spit and the sail home

A last swim, a long lunch under way, and back toward Tortola for the final night aboard.

Day 8 — Disembark after breakfast

Most guests fly into Beef Island (EIS) on Tortola or St. Thomas (STT) in the USVI. Pickup from St. Thomas or other USVI ports can be arranged — mention it when you inquire.

How the route actually gets decided

Before the trip your captain learns what you are after — snorkeling, beach bars, quiet anchorages, the famous spots — and builds a custom route through the BVI and USVI. Nothing is locked. If the group wants a slow day at a single beach instead of a sail to the next island, the plan flexes.
